Plate heat exchangers are ideal for liquid-liquid heat exchange. It is featured with high heat exchange efficiency, small heat loss, compact structure, small occupied area, convenient installation and cleaning, wide application and long service life. The main types are frame type (detachable) and brazed type (non-detachable). Most of the commercial brewery equipment are using detachable BR-type frame heat exchangers.

BR type frame heat exchanger has two structures: ordinary structure, which is not easy to remove and wash and suspended structure, which is easy for washing and unloading.
Ordinary structure
The common structure consists of corrugated sheets, gaskets, compression plates, upper and lower positioning bolts, and compression bolts.
Suspended structure
The suspended structure is composed of corrugated plates, gaskets, fixed pressing plates, intermediate plates, movable pressing plates, brackets, upper and lower positioning beams, and compression bolts.
The difference between the two is that the suspended structure increases the upper and lower positioning beams, the movable pressing plates and the like, so that the corrugated plates and the gaskets do not have to be completely disassembled, thereby reducing the possibility of leakage after re-assembly.
