During the brewing whole process, temperature is very important.
In the brewhouse process, the temperature is related with final wort plato, and it will affect the final beer; in the fermentation process, it related with beer’s fermentation speed and beer’s favor and alcohol and CO2 of beer; Temperature is very import for whole brewing process.
For test the exact temperature, the themowell is changing. At present, there are two type thermowell, Ф8 and Ф12.
The Ф8 is one old stype, which should be welded with tanks and put the PT100 probe inside for test, it is a good design, there are still some European brewery equipment manufacture adopt this design.
The Ф12 is one new style, the thermowell and PT100 is combined, and it connected with tanks by tri-clamp connection no need to weld. With this design, it is easier to clean and a good design from sanitary. But once the PT100 is not worked during fermentation, it is difficult to change it.
From personal, i like first design Ф8, it can be easier to change PT100 probe even in fermentation process.
